Fisherman's Song
Fisherman's Song
Fishermen’s Song
We are three fishermen on liberty
Whiling away the hours before our ship goes out to sea.
Spending time with our friends sharing a drink and a song- Help yourself to fine ale and kindly sing along.
We live on the sea. We*ll never be rich.
But we’ll never go hungry less we get tired of fish.
God gave us two hands and we work them to the bone.
We’ll never leave the sea until our names are carved in stone. A thousand voyages and a thousand more to go-
A thousand things we’ve learned and a thousand still to know. We keep our ship a sailing on an ocean feared and loved.
We’ve been to sea so long we bleed saltwater instead of blood. We live on the sea. We’ll never be rich.
But we’ll never go hungry less we get tired of fish.
God gave us two hands and we work them to the bone.
We’II never leave the sea until our names are carved in stone. First light we’ll set sail through a following sea.
But tonight we’ll raise a glass to our friends and family.
And remembering those who are not here we raise a glass to them. And a final toast that we’ll return to share this toast again.
We live on the sea. We*ll never be rich.
But we’ll never go hungry less we get tired of fish.
God gave us two hands and we work them to the bone.
We’ll never leave the sea until our names are carved in stone.
